What Is A Stroke and What Causes One?

A stroke occurs when the oxygen is completely cut off from the brain. It can affect your speech, behavior, your thought patterns, your senses and your memory. A stroke can also cause paralysis, coma and death. What Causes a Stroke?

A stroke occurs when oxygen is cut off from the brain by either a busted artery or a clogged artery. Brain tissue that is robbed of oxygen dies in just minutes. The end result is that that part of the brain that controls that part of the body either doesn’t function properly or not at all.

1. A hemorrhagic stroke is caused by a ruptured blood vessel in the brain.
2. A thrombotic stock occurs when a blood clot blocks a cerebral artery.
3. Atherosclerosis and or high blood pressure increase the risk of a stroke.
4. Bleeding into the brain from an injury can also cause a stroke.

Stroke Symptoms
Sudden weakness or numbness of the face arm or leg, usually on one side of the body. If you have difficulty speaking or understanding when someone is talking to you. Dimness or loss of vision, usually in one eye. Falls for no reason or unexplained dizziness. A sudden or severe headache.
