Pravachol – Effectively Lowering the Chances of Heart Attack and Stroke

Pravachol Oral is a drug that is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, which is an enzyme blocker that is also commonly called a ‘statin’. Generally this type of medication is prescribed to patients after they have already tried other means of lowering high cholesterol levels. These methods generally include consuming less amounts of alcohol, losing weight in patients that are overweight, engaging in regular physical exercise and activities on a daily basis, and including food products in the diet that contain a low level of cholesterol and fats. When a healthy diet is consumed along with taking this medication, it can effectively reduce the levels of triglycerides and LDL or bad cholesterol found in the patient’s blood. This can be very beneficial in a patient that is at a high risk of having a stroke or heart attack, as it effectively reduces the chances of these risks a great deal. Before taking this drug you will need to ask your physician about side effects that can occur with its use. Some of the most common side effects would include dizziness, headache, and an upset stomach. If any of these side effects become persistent, or become much worse, consult with your physician.
