What are coronary heart diseases?Coronary heart diseases are also termed as coronary artery disease. Statistics state that in United States nearly 14 million men and women are affected. There might be various reasons as to why coronary heart diseases might take place. Some of the most common coronary heart diseases are cardiac arrest, severe chest pain and heart attack. Actually, coronary heart disease is caused by any problem with the coronary artery that does not allow free flow of oxygen rich blood to the heart. Insufficient blood flow towards the heart leads coronary heart disease like cardiac arrest. The presence of plaque in the heart narrows the artery. This may lead to severe chest pain, clot or angina. This condition is fatal and might be responsible for heart attack. United States leads all other countries as far as deaths due to coronary heart disease are concerned. It is worth noting that in the childhood the coronary arteries are flexible and smooth. This eases the flow of blood. But with the ageing process, the deposit of calcium and cholesterol content increases in the inner walls of arteries. This reduces the elasticity and flexibility of the arteries. In order to avoid coronary heart disease, it is vital to adopt healthy habits as the age passes. Having nutritious food, exercising, avoiding smoking and practicing moderate drinking can keep away such health ailments. |
