What is Heart Disease?

Heart disease is an open term that is used while describing the various diseases that involve a person’s heart. This variety of diseases that descend under the category of a heart disease, include the diseases that affect a person’s blood vessels are, arrhythmias also known as heart rhythm issues, coronary artery disease, or congenital heart defects that a person could have be born with.

The term heart disease is usually substituted with the term cardiovascular disease. This term is referred to as a condition involving blood vessels that might be very narrow or even blocked that tend to lead to angina (chest pain), heart attack, or a stroke. Other heart diseases such as other conditions that affect a person’s heart, including their valves, pulse rhythm, heart muscle, or infections.

A person’s heart is an important organ within their body. When the heart is not working properly, it affects numerous organs that are within a person’s body such as their kidney and brain.

Among millions of women and men around the world, heart diseases are known as the number one killer. However, by improving a person’s lifestyle by changing their decisions, exercising, and dieting properly, several types of heart diseases could be eliminated or prevented.
